Jennifer Brogan
Jennifer Brogan has 30 years of education experience, first as a teacher and then as a counselor. She began her counseling career in 2004 working for Modesto City Schools. After 3 years of working as a school counselor, Jen had the opportunity to become the college counselor at Enochs High School. Her proudest career accomplishment was building a quality comprehensive college counseling program at Enochs. Jen encourages students to take the most rigorous classes they are capable of, assists them with their college applications, advises them on SAT/ACT testing and helps them apply for financial aid and scholarships. The college application process is so much more complicated and competitive than ever before. Her greatest reward has been celebrating the successes of her students as she helps them transition from high school to post-secondary education. In 2022, Jen left Enochs and moved with her family to San Diego.
Professionally, Jen has been recognized for the outstanding role she provides to her students. In 2012, Jen was chosen by her high school as a nominee for the Stanislaus County Teacher of the Year. The following year Jen was nominated for the Arthur S. Marmaduke Award by her principal for her knowledge and dedication to helping students apply for financial aid and pursue higher education. Teresa Pitts has been Jen’s mentor and colleague. CollegeBound Counseling is a result of the vision they both share to provide quality college counseling to students and their families.

Teresa Pitts
Teresa Pitts began her counseling career at Patterson High School in 1991, where she had the opportunity to work primarily with first generation students and their families. In 1999, she was hired by Modesto City Schools to be one of the five original College Counselors in their innovative and comprehensive College Counseling Program. Teresa completed her eighteenth year at the helm of the College Counseling Program at Beyer High School in Modesto, CA. and retired after twenty-six years of service in public education. In 2001, the College Counselors received the CSBA Golden Bell Award, recognizing outstanding programs and governance practices throughout California. In addition, the team received the first Campaign for College Opportunity’s Practices With Promise award in 2007. They recognized those programs that ensured that the next generation of students could go to college and succeed. Individually, Teresa has been nominated twice for the Arthur S. Marmaduke Award sponsored by the California Student Aid Commission, given to one outstanding California high school counselor who demonstrates exemplary skills in helping students fulfill their dreams of a college education.
Under Teresa’s guidance, students have earned millions of dollars in scholarships and financial aid. In 2012, Teresa was honored to be nominated for the California League of High Schools Educator of the year Award. Her most meaningful award is the Stanford University Teacher Tribute Initiative, presented by a former student for playing a significant role in his intellectual, academic, social and personal development.
